Elevators & escalators are the safest mode of public transportation

  •  The miles traveled annually on elevators and escalators equal 75% of the total highway trips in the U.S.
  • In the U.S we take 283 billion trips on elevators and escalators for a total of 2.825 billion miles each year.

ENHANCE SAFETY WHILE PROMOTING INNOVATION

NEII promotes safe building transportation for new and existing products. NEII's Field Employee Safety Committee consists of global leaders in the transportation industry and experienced NEII staff experts. We meet regularly to ensure the highest safety standards are met and adopted into best practices across our industry.

Our NEII team members work together with member companies to educate and promote uniform safety standards across the country.

This is accomplished by educating Federal/State/Local lawmakers about the formation, adoption, and enforcement of the latest codes.

The government affairs team led by, Philip Grone, helps advance innovation efforts. Traveling the country ensuring that codes are consistent and forward thinking, our team sets the foundation upon which new building technology can thrive. This results in better, safer, more advanced end products for all users.
